I think with this particular style of ring, it is pretty important to get the sizing correct. It isn't something that you'd want to get re-sized. The ring is well constructed; if your spouse is a little hard on jewelry, this is a good choice. The diamonds are well protected, and the platinum setting is more durable than the white gold.
